WorldPainter Safe Mode
WorldPainter Safe Mode is an operating mode of WorldPainter that eliminates all outside influences that might cause it not to start or to be unusable. It is separate from, and does not require, Windows Safe Mode. Specifically, in Safe Mode WorldPainter will temporarily:
- set the hardware acceleration painting method to default
- revert to the Java default visual theme
- disable all UI scaling (so the GUI might be too small or too large)
- not load plugins (this means it may not load worlds which were created using those plugins while in Safe Mode)
- not load custom brushes
- not show Minecraft biomes outside the borders of the world
- not load the background image, if any (it will still load overlay images)
- create the startup world with the default settings rather than those configured in the preferences
This will allow it to start or operate successfully if a problem with one of these is causing normal operation to fail. Functionality may be limited; this mode is not intended for doing work, but for diagnosing problems and changing preferences.
Starting in Safe Mode
To start WorldPainter in safe mode, use the "WorldPainter (Safe Mode)" start menu entry, or on the command line add the parameter --safe
